This report is the fourteenth edition of the market research for soda ash (sodium carbonate) in the CIS countries.

The market has been monitored since August 1996.

The purpose of the research is to analyze the Russian and CIS countries soda ash markets.

The object of the research is soda ash and its consumption.

This work is a desk study. The sources of information were data from Rosstat, the Federal Customs Service of the Russian Federation, official statistics of railway transportation of JSC Russian Railways, the Agency of the Republic of Kazakhstan on Statistics, the State Customs Service of Ukraine; materials from the US State Geological Survey (USGS), data from UNdata, industry and regional press, annual and quarterly reports of securities issuers, websites of companies producing soda ash, as well as data obtained from telephone interviews of employees of consumer companies of this reagent were used ...

Chronological scope of the study: 1999-2019; forecast - 2020-2030

Geography of research: Russian Federation, Republic of Kazakhstan, Ukraine - comprehensive detailed analysis of the market; Armenia, Belarus, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan - general retrospective market analysis; the rest of the world - an overview of the dynamics and characteristics of the market.

The report is in 7 Sections, contains 246 pages, including 40 figures, 91 tables (63 tables in the text of the report and 28 tables in Appendix 1), 3 appendices.

The first chapter of the report provides a brief description of the world sodium carbonate market (reserves of natural soda, production, prices, export-import of soda ash).

The second chapter of the report provides information on the raw materials required for the production of soda ash, its characteristics. Also in this chapter, the technology for the production of sodium carbonate in the CIS countries is considered in detail. In addition, data on the main suppliers of raw materials, directions and volumes of supplies are presented.

The third chapter of the review is devoted to the production of soda ash in the CIS countries. This section provides statistical data on the volumes of soda production in Russia, Ukraine and Uzbekistan (1999-2020). In addition, the quality indicators of the products obtained are given.

The fourth chapter presents data on foreign trade operations with soda ash in Russia for the period 1998-2020. and in Ukraine for the period 1999-2020. In addition, data on the import of soda to Belarus, Kazakhstan and other CIS countries (2004-2020) are presented.

The fifth chapter provides information on the level of prices for various brands of soda on the domestic Russian market (1999-2020). In addition, we analyzed data on changes in export-import prices for soda ash in Russia and Ukraine (1999-2020).

The sixth chapter examines the consumption of soda ash in Russia and Ukraine. This section provides the balance of production - consumption of these products, the sectoral structure of consumption, the main consumers, as well as the current state and development prospects of the largest consumer enterprises.

The seventh chapter presents a forecast of the development of the soda ash market in Russia (production and consumption) for the period up to 2030.

For the convenience of working with the report, tables with statistical data for 1996-2015. moved to Appendix 1. References to the table data are available in the text of the report. The numbers of tables in Appendix 1 have an alphabetic index "P".

Appendices 2 and 3 provide the address and contact information of the main enterprises producing and consuming soda ash in the CIS countries.

Target audience of the study:

- Soda ash market participants - producers, consumers, traders;

- potential investors.

The proposed study claims to be a reference guide for marketing services and decision-makers working in the soda ash market.
