This report is the fourth edition of the study of the scandium market in the world, the CIS countries and in Russia.
Market monitoring has been ongoing since 2001.
The purpose of the study is to analyze the market of scandium and its compounds - in the world and in Russia, as well as its processing chains in the aerospace industry and in the production of solid oxide fuel cells.
The objects of research are scandium-containing ores and man-made deposits and production wastes, various compounds of scandium (mainly oxide), Sc metal and aluminum-scandium ligatures and alloys.
This review is the most comprehensive among those presented on the information market on this topic, and claims to be a reference tool, since the scandium market is very closed and the statistics are incomplete.
The use of data without additional thorough analysis may lead to the adoption of erroneous management decisions by marketing services and specialists working on the scandium market.
A distinctive feature of this study is that it provides a detailed analysis of the market of scandium and compounds in the CIS, which helps to avoid errors made by the authors of similar studies conducted by other companies.
This work is a desk study. As sources of information, we used data from Rosstat, the Federal Customs Service of the Russian Federation, statistics materials from the US State Geological Survey (USGS), data from the UNdata database, industry and regional press, annual and quarterly reports of issuers of securities, as well as websites of scandium producers and its compounds.
Chronological scope of the study: 2001-2019, forecast – 2019-2030.
Geography of the study: the global market is reviewed briefly, the market of the Russian Federation and the CIS countries - in detail.
The report consists of 9 chapters, contains 100 pages, including 20 Figures, and 23 Tables.
The first chapter is devoted to the mineral resource base and the production of scandium and its compounds abroad. It provides information on the world production, prices for scandium in the United States and its areas of application.
The second chapter of the report discusses the scandium mineral resource base in the Russian Federation and the CIS countries. The chapter gives a brief description of the balance sheet deposits of scandium, as well as promising raw materials.
The third chapter analyzes the foreign trade operations of the CIS countries with scandium and its compounds in 2001-2019. The data on the volumes of export and import of the studied products by countries, suppliers and recipients are given.
The fourth chapter is devoted to the Russian export-import prices for scandium, its compounds and scandium ligatures in 2004-2019.
The fifth chapter provides information on the production of scandium and scandium compounds in the CIS in 2001-2019. The main manufacturers are considered. GOSTs and TUs for produced scandium products are presented.
The sixth chapter is devoted to new projects for the extraction of scandium in the CIS from ore and industrial raw materials.
The seventh chapter analyzes the state of the main consuming industries: the aerospace industry and the production of solid oxide fuel cells.
The eighth chapter estimates the consumption of scandium in the CIS in 2001-2019.
The ninth chapter assesses the dynamics of the scandium production in Russia until 2030.
The Appendix contains the contact information on producers of scandium and its compounds.
