This report is the second edition of the study of the market for mercury and its compounds in Russia and the CIS countries.

The purpose of the study is to analyze the market for mercury and its organic inorganic compounds, mercury tablets.

The object of research is mercury and its compounds.

This work is a desk study. As sources of information, data from the Federal State Statistics Service of the Russian Federation (FSGS), railway traffic statistics of the Russian Federation, the Federal Customs Service of the Russian Federation, the State Statistics Committee of Ukraine, the State Customs Service of Ukraine, the Statistics Agency of the Republic of Kazakhstan, UNdata, USGS, and the Infomine database were used. Also, data from industry and regional press, annual and quarterly reports of securities issuers, as well as websites of enterprises-producers and consumers of mercury were involved.

Chronological scope of the study: 2006-2021; forecast - until 2030

Research geography: Russia, Ukraine - comprehensive detailed market analysis; a brief overview of the market of the CIS countries - Tajikistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan.

Scope of the study: the report consists of 5 parts, contains 80 pages, including 19 figures, 20 tables and 2 appendices.

The first chapter of the report describes in detail the mineral resource base of mercury in the CIS (Russia, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Ukraine, Kazakhstan), provides data on reserves and the main deposits.

The second chapter presents data on mercury production technology, quality requirements, safety precautions when working with mercury, data on the extraction and processing of mercury raw materials to obtain commercial products. This section shows the dynamics of the production of mercury metal and mercury in concentrate in the CIS in 2006-2021. In addition, a description is given of the main enterprises-producers of metallic mercury and mercury-antimony concentrate in the CIS countries (Russia, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Ukraine).

The third chapter is devoted to foreign trade operations (2006-2021) with mercury products (metal mercury and its compounds, mercury tablets, mercury-antimony concentrate) by the CIS countries (Russia, Ukraine, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Kazakhstan). This chapter also analyzes export-import prices (2006-2021) for the products in question.

The fourth chapter describes the consumption of mercury and its compounds in Russia. This chapter presents the dynamics of mercury consumption in Russia (2006-2021), data on the structure of mercury consumption in Russia. The situation with mercury consumption in other CIS countries is briefly reviewed.

The final, fifth chapter describes the current trends in the development of the market for mercury and its compounds in Russia, the production of mercury in the CIS countries, and provides a forecast for the consumption of mercury in Russia for the period up to 2030.

The appendices contain addresses and contact information of enterprises producing mercury products and enterprises-consumers.

Target audience of the study:

- market participants of mercury and mercury products - manufacturers, consumers, traders;

- potential investors.

The proposed study claims to be a reference tool for marketing services and management decision makers working in this market.
