This report is the second edition of the study of the market of railway springs used in the production of carriages for freight cars in Russia.
The purpose of the study is to analyze the current state of the market for spring suspension springs for freight car trucks in the Russian Federation
The object of the research is spring suspension springs for freight car trucks.
Chronological framework of the study: 2003-2018; forecast to 2030
Geography of research: Russian Federation - a comprehensive detailed analysis of the market, other countries - a brief analysis.
The difference of this work from the research currently presented on the Russian market is a broader time frame - the Russian market was studied in the period from 2003 to 2018.
It should be noted that at present, not all spring suspension spring manufacturers for freight wagon carts in Russia report on the production volumes of their products to the FSGS RF (Rosstat). In this report, the current situation on the market for spring suspension for freight wagon carriages is more accurately assessed on the basis of in-sector analysis of production, repairs and exports.
In addition, the report provides detailed data on the quality characteristics of spring suspension for trucks of freight cars produced by Russian manufacturers.
Also, this report contains a brief description of the Russian market of spring suspension for freight car trucks - data on the production and consumption of these products. Considered trade operations with spring suspension springs for freight wagons, identified the largest domestic exporters, studied the dynamics of prices for spring suspension springs for freight wagons in the period 2003-2018.
This work is a desk study. The sources of information were data from the Federal State Statistics Service of the Russian Federation (Rosstat), the Federal Customs Service of the Russian Federation, statistics on deliveries of railway cars of the Russian Federation, industry and regional press, as well as Internet sites of enterprise-producers and consumers of spring suspension springs for freight carriages. In addition, during the work on the report, telephone interviews of market participants were conducted.
Scope of the study: the report consists of 6 parts, contains 86 pages, including 24 tables, 20 figures, 3 appendices.
In the first chapter of the report, the basic concepts of spring suspension, the influence of springs on the characteristics of carriages, their role in the safety of railway traffic are given.
The second chapter of the report discusses the requirements for materials used in the manufacture of springs, as well as the technical characteristics of the springs themselves.
The third chapter assesses the production of springs in Russia in 2003-2018. The implementation of the springs was taken into account not only in the manufacture of new freight cars, but also in scheduled and non-planned repairs, as well as in export, including as part of carts.
The fourth chapter of the report is devoted to a detailed description of the Russian manufacturers of springs. It contains information on the current state of spring suspension manufacturers for freight car trucks - production volumes and characteristics of products, directions and volumes of supplies, as well as the main financial and economic indicators of enterprises for the last 5 years.
The fifth chapter presents a comparative description of the domestic Russian and export prices for springs in 2003-2018, as well as the prices of individual producers.
In the sixth chapter of the report, possible scenarios for the development of the spring market for 2019–2030 are shown, which are based on forecasts of the exit of freight wagons in the Russian Federation and the development of the railway network in the Russian Federation, the CIS and abroad.
Appendix 1 shows the technical characteristics of activated carbons from some Russian manufacturers.
Appendix 2 summarizes the results of the tenders for the wholesale purchase of spring sets for suspension of freight wagons of Uralvagonzavod NPK in 2016-2018.
Appendix 3 provides addresses and contact information for spring manufacturers.
