This report is the sixteenth edition of the study of the soda ash (sodium carbonate) market in Russia, the CIS countries and the world.
The market has been monitored since August 1996.
The purpose of the study is to analyze the Russian and CIS markets for soda ash.
The object of the study is soda ash and its consumption.
This work is a desk study. As sources of information, data from Rosstat, the Federal Customs Service of the Russian Federation, the official statistics of railway transportation of Russian Railways OJSC, the Agency of the Republic of Kazakhstan on Statistics, the State Customs Service of Ukraine were used; materials of the US State Geological Survey (USGS), data from the UNdata database, industry and regional press, annual and quarterly reports of securities issuers, websites of soda ash manufacturers, as well as data obtained from telephone interviews with employees of companies consuming this reagent .
Chronological scope of the study: 1999-2022; forecast - 2023-2030
Research geography: Russian Federation, Republic of Kazakhstan, Ukraine - comprehensive detailed market analysis; Armenia, Belarus, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan - general retrospective analysis of the market; the rest of the world - general information about the dynamics and characteristics of the market.
The report consists of 7 parts, contains 245 pages, including 40 figures, 91 tables (63 tables in the text of the report and 28 tables in Annex 1), 3 appendices.
The first chapter of the report gives a brief description of the world market of sodium carbonate (stocks of natural soda, production, prices, export-import of soda ash).
The second chapter of the report provides information about the raw materials needed for the production of soda ash, its characteristics. Also in this chapter, the technology for the production of sodium carbonate in the CIS countries is considered in detail. In addition, data on the main suppliers of raw materials, directions and volumes of supplies are presented.
The third chapter of the review is devoted to the production of soda ash in the CIS countries. This section provides statistical data on the production of soda in Russia, Ukraine and Uzbekistan (1999-2022). In addition, the quality indicators of the products obtained are given.
The fourth chapter presents data on foreign trade operations with soda ash in Russia for the period 1998-2022. and in Ukraine for the period 1999-2021. In addition, data on the import of soda to Belarus, Kazakhstan and other CIS countries (2004-2022) are presented.
The fifth chapter provides information on the price level for various brands of soda in the domestic Russian market (1999-2022). In addition, data on changes in export-import prices for soda ash in Russia and Ukraine (1999-2022) were analyzed.
The sixth chapter examines the consumption of soda ash in Russia and Ukraine. This section presents the balance of production - consumption of these products, the sectoral structure of consumption, the main consumers, as well as the current state and development prospects of the largest consumer enterprises.
The seventh chapter presents a forecast for the development of the soda ash market in Russia (production and consumption) for the period up to 2030.
For the convenience of working with the report, tables with statistical data for 1996-2015. are included in Appendix 1 links to the table data are available in the text of the report. The numbers of tables in Appendix 1 have the letter index "P".
Annexes 2 and 3 contain the address and contact information of the main enterprises producing and consuming soda ash in the CIS countries.
Target audience of the study:
- soda ash market participants - manufacturers, consumers, traders;
- potential investors.
The proposed study purports to be a reference tool for marketing and management decision makers working in the soda ash market.
