This report is the fourth edition of a study of the nitric acid market in Russia, other EAEU countries and the world.
The purpose of the study is to analyze the Russian nitric acid market.
The object of the study is nitric acid of various types and grades.
This work is a desk study. The following sources of information were used:
1. Rosstat;
2. Russian customs statistics (up to 2022);
3. Russian rail transportation statistics;
4. Reports and other statistical materials from industry ministries and agencies (the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade, the Ministry of Industry and Trade, etc.), unions, and industry associations;
5. Public information sources, online publications, industry print and online journals, media outlets, and internet portals;
6. Archive of available bid and tender results published on the government procurement portal;
7. Industry analytics and reviews, materials from marketing and consulting companies, and review articles;
8. Monitoring online materials of key industry players, corporate information, company reports, and published interviews with industry experts.
9. SBIS Database;
10. InfoMine Database.
Study timeframe: 2014-2025; forecast – to 2030/35.
Study geography: The Russian Federation – a detailed comprehensive market analysis; other EAEU countries and the world – a brief retrospective analysis.
A distinctive feature of this study is the inclusion of market characteristics of the EAEU and the world, a detailed description of the quality characteristics of various types and brands of commercial nitric acid, and a detailed analysis of foreign trade transactions involving nitric acid. The supply-demand balance is examined (separating in-plant consumption and deliveries of commercial nitric acid to the largest consumer enterprises), trends in key consuming industries are identified, and new promising consumption segments are identified.
The review consists of seven parts and contains 118 pages, including 34 figures, 46 tables, and two appendices.
Chapter one of the review provides a brief overview of the global nitric acid market (capacity, production and consumption structure, foreign trade operations, and global prices) from 2017 to 2025.
Chapter two examines nitric acid production technologies, the main sources of raw materials, Russian suppliers, and supply chains.
Chapter three examines nitric acid production in the Eurasian Economic Union from 2014 to 2025. It presents the quality requirements for various types and grades of nitric acid produced by Russian companies, as well as storage and transportation requirements for each type.
An assessment of overall nitric acid production capacity in Russia is provided, along with the dynamics of these indicators by country and producer company. The chapter also describes individual producers (production dynamics and grade composition, as well as the largest consumer companies).
Chapter four of the review presents data on foreign trade transactions with nitric acid in the EAEU from 2014 to 2025.
Chapter five analyzes nitric acid prices in Russia. Specifically, it presents current domestic prices and provides export-import price dynamics for 2014-2025 by supplier company and brand of the chemical.
Chapter six examines consumption of the product under review. It presents the production-consumption balance, consumption structure by industry and type of nitric acid, characterizes the largest consuming companies, analyzes key market trends, and identifies trends in consuming industries.
Chapter seven presents a forecast for market development and nitric acid consumption through 2030/35.
The appendices provide addresses and contact information for the main companies producing and consuming nitric acid in Russia and other EAEU countries.
The target audience for this study is:
- nitric acid market participants – producers, consumers, and traders;
- potential investors.
This study is intended to serve as a reference guide for marketing departments and decision-makers working in the nitric acid market.
